Access Chapter 2’s Officially Designated as Law Clinic registration by the Legal Practice Council

Pretoria, 22 November 2023— Access Chapter 2, a leading advocate for the LGBTQI community, proudly announces that the organisation has received official recognition as a Law Clinic from the Legal Practice Council in Gauteng.

This designation marks a significant milestone, making us South Africa’s first Queer led Law Clinic and also solidifies our commitment to providing exceptional legal services to the LGBTQI community and women in their diversity. In the last 10 years of the organisation’s existence, we mark this as a highlight for the plight of our people, the queer community and women, historically marginalized and disenfranchised, especially when accessing their legal rights and justice.

According to AC2 Legal Manager, Keneilwe Zulu, “The Legal Practice Council’s recognition underscores Access Chapter 2’s dedication to ensuring accessible and high-quality legal support. As an officially recognized Law Clinic, we look forward to expanding our impact, championing justice, and advancing the rights of the LGBTQI community through our legal advocacy”.

“We are super excited and feel privileged to receive this distinction from the Legal Practice Council. Access Chapter 2 has always carried the spirit of social justice and public service, and as organisation we have strived to provide desperately needed legal services in underserved communities. This registration is affirming the organisations vision, our team led by our now Law Clinic Manager, Ms Zulu will continue to upholding the legal standards and serving the LGBTQI community, as well as women in their diversity with diligence and expertise,” said AC2 Executive Director, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike.

This achievement not only validates our ongoing efforts but also inspires us to continue our mission of bridging the gap and ensure the provision of free, comprehensive, and compassionate legal services to those who need them the most.
