About Access Chapter 2

Established in 2013, and registered in 2014. Initiated to promoting the human rights and empowerment of women and LGBTI people, and the participation of civil society organisation in governance and policy processes at local, national, regional and international level by creating space and coordinating platforms for engagement on governance, policy and accountability processes and by developing innovative and active empowerment for transformation knowledge on community systems strengthening and build solidarity within civil society and other various sectors.


Vission

A world where women and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people in their diversity have equal access to human rights. Access Chapter 2's (AC2) vision and mission is built from the women's and LGBTI centred approach, and seeks to ensure civil society sector's substantive participation in civil, political and socio economic rights as enshrined in the bill of rights.


Mission

To achieve our vision through advocacy and advancement of social justice, meaningfully create and locate women in their diversity and LGBTI's voice in the public policy platform, to empowerment citizens on equal access to rights, in order to foster change and transformation in South Africa and the African region.
